Al is a Level 1 coach at CrossFit Lobo.
He is a native Texan, having grown up in Baytown, Texas where he played every sport he had the opportunity to play. In 2007 he moved to San Antonio to run track and cross country for UTSA. He was apart of several conference championship teams and loved training just as much as he loved competing. Al received his Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. After graduating, Al married his wife Jessica and they have two highly energetic children, Deacon and Allie.
Al is a pastor at The Well Community Church and has been doing CrossFit for the past couple years. Al got into CrossFit to get back in shape, lose a few pounds, and workout with friends. The functional nature and camaraderie of CrossFit is what he enjoys most. He strives to be the best at everything he does and loves to challenge others to do the same.
When it comes to coaching, Al has a long-term perspective. He is most concerned about safety, mastering movements, and daily building of a foundation for a lifestyle of fitness.
